Kaze No Noroi (風の呪い) – Curse of the Wind
Symbolism in the Mask Design:
Steel-Blue Skin: Represents the wind element; invisible, cold, and unrelenting. Reflects sorrow, stillness, and divine estrangement.
Yellow Eyes: Symbolize otherworldly sight, spiritual vigilance, and the ability to see betrayal and broken vows.
Twin Ivory Horns: Indicate the Oni’s origin as a former wind god (kami) once noble, now corrupted by divine rage.
Smoke & Wind Motifs: Embody chaos, restlessness, and spiritual turbulence. The wind cannot be contained or reasoned with.
Rising Sun Behind Head: Echoes lost divinity and suppressed power. Suggests the Oni still carries a fragment of celestial origin.
Braided Rope (Shimenawa): Traditional Shinto symbol of sacred boundary used to seal or bind dangerous spirits.
Fanged Snarl: A voice of vengeance and memory. The curse is not silent; it screams through storms.
